On 31 January 2019 EU funded Project “Support for Public Administration Capacity Building in Turkmenistan” organized a workshop for the teaching staff of the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan and other stakeholders on the topic “Development and Implementation of a Master’s Degree Program in Public Administration – the experience of Lithuania”.
The workshop was considered as a first round of the series of workshops on development and implementation of Master’s Degree Program in Public Administration, planned for the first half year 2019 within the framework of the EU funded Project “Support for Public Administration Capacity Building in Turkmenistan” in cooperation with the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan.
Project’s senior expert, Associated Professor Jurgita Siugzdiniene, presented Civil Service Training and Education in Lithuania and Public Administration Studies at Kaunas University of Technology. The presentation included such points as Public Administration teaching levels in Lithuania and government strategies and accreditation of the universities and consulting/training agencies. Issues of entry requirements and selection of students, study program structure, additional MA + courses and Public Administration studies as well as desired outcome from Public Administration courses raised great interest among the participants and brought thorough discussions. The workshop became a successful start-up of the joint strategic activity aimed at Public Administration capacity building in Turkmenistan.
