The European Union funded Project “Support to Further Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in Turkmenistan – SARD III” organized “The Food Safety Management System according to ISO 22000:2018” training course on 12-15 February 2019 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The training’s target audience included food safety specialists and inspectors of the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, food safety management system consultants and specialists of food testing laboratories. The main objective was to train the specialists in food safety management system in accordance with the internationally recognized ISO22000:2018 food safety standard.
The course was conducted by the experienced ISO 22000 “SGS Turkmen” Subsidiary Enterprise Trainer, who elaborated on the methodology of development and implementation of a food safety management system. Participants analyzed key food safety hazards and control measures, discussed issues of verification and improvement of the food safety management system, and studied practical approaches of the standard implementation. During the practical exercises, participants worked in groups to review cases related to the potential hazards that can compromise food safety in enterprises. The Activity was supported by SARD III within the framework of the Project’s objective to support the Government of Turkmenistan (GoT) in achieving national policy objectives for sustainable agriculture and rural development, as well as strengthening supporting institutions for the agri-food sector.
