The first round of series of workshops to train the HR staff of state bodies

Ashgabat, September 5, 2019 – The European Union funded project “Support for Public Administration Capacity Building in Turkmenistan” organized the first round of series of workshops in HR management to train the HR staff of state bodies as well as local governments. The event was conducted with the participation of the project international expert Mr. Harry List in the Gala cultural center.

The aim of the workshop was to achieve the Project results under the Component 2, Activity 2.6: Train at least 100 civil servants from personnel management and other relevant departments of state bodies and local governments in human resource management and human resource development issues.

Representatives from the EU Delegation to Turkmenistan; HR professionals from the Academy of Civil Service under President of Turkmenistan (AoCS); The Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly; Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan; Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan; International University for the Humanities and Development; Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Turkmenistan; Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan; Local authorities (Hyakimliks) took active part in the workshop.

During the workshop, Mr. List presented the topics “Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development”, “Roles between the HR department and line management”, “Strategic Workforce Planning”, “Recruitment and Selection” and “Competence Management and Performance Management”. The workshop participants in small groups described and presented the trending topics of HRM in Turkmenistan. Participants discussed the importance of each topic. At the result of the workshop, the main actual topics of HRM were revealed, which will be further elaborated by the project experts in accordance with the international practices and taking into account local peculiarities.  The selected topics will be presented and discussed at the International Conference on HRM, which will take place in late autumn 2019.
