Workshop to train the trainers on interactive teaching, training and learning methods

The sixth-round of series of “Training of Trainers” (ToT) workshops on interactive teaching, modern training, and learning methods was organized from 2 – 6 December 2019 at the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD). The workshop was conducted by the European Union (EU) funded project “Support for Public Administration Capacity Building in Turkmenistan” with the participation of the project international expert Mr. Klemen Belhar.

The event was organized in cooperation with the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan upon the request of the teaching staff of the IUHD to share best practices in interactive teaching methods. Participants of the workshop were the teaching staff of the IUHD.

During the five-day ToT workshop, Mr. Belhar explained about the training objectives, interactive teaching as well as learning methods and used exercises in Bloom’s taxonomy. Participants of the event learned to set SMART objectives, differences between teaching, and training principles. Trainer shared with the participants the international practices in flipped classrooms, blended learning methods, and case study methods. Each day of the workshop was replete with the individual as well as group activities, practical works, and tasks.

Participants shared with the expert their impressive fillings on new methods presented during the workshop and they rated the ToT workshop level very high. The project team welcomed the suggestions and ideas on the organization of more pieces of training and workshops for students and teaching staff of the IUHD. After the ToT workshop, participants were awarded the certificate of participation.

The event contributed to the achievement of the project objective aimed at strengthening the capacities of the training institutions to provide demand-driven training. General information about the project and on the project events could be found at www.publicadmin-tm.eu
